The deadline to register is Thursday, March 30 2017, at 11:59pm. All students/teams who meet the eligibility criteria will be able to participate.
Each team will be assigned two 15-minute pitch slots and will pitch before two different judging panels on the the same evening. Teams may indicate their preferred night (Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday) at the time of the application, and will be notified of their assigned pitch slots by Saturday, April 1.
Each night, there will be a registration table located at the entrance to the Hariri building, and we ask that teams check-in at least 15 minutes prior to the time slot assigned for their first pitch. (Participants need not be present for the full evening, but should bear in mind that they may be a gap between their first and second appearances.)
Teams will have 6 minutes to pitch their idea to the panel, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. We recommend that you prepare a short pitch deck (10 – 12 slides). You may also wish to prepare a one-page executive summary for the judges. (Be sure to bring at least 5 copies of any handouts).
Based on the judges’ scores, the top 8 teams will advance to the finals. Finalists will be announced no later than COB Saturday, April 8, 2017.
All teams will be judged on the 1) quality and attractiveness of the business concept, 2) the strength of the team, and 3) the quality of the presentation.
Is feasible? Could it generate a profit? Could it scale?
Do they give you the confidence they could lead this effort? Did they handle the questions well?
Was it compelling and complete? Did it address all of the key points (market opportunity, competitors, revenue model etc)?
