Jean-Marie Fernandez, (B ’92)

    Jean-Marie Fernandez is president of the Fernandez Foundation, a private foundation dedicated to providing underprivileged children in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area with superior educational opportunities. In this role, she has expanded the foundation’s giving to encompass organizations that enhance children’s ability to “think outside of the box” and provide them with the necessary resources to enhance their own self-expression and creative capabilities.

     

    Fernandez previously was an education executive for Estée Lauder, Inc.’s Baltimore/Washington region, responsible for coordinating regional activities and events for the company as well as training and educating department and specialty stores about Estée Lauder’s products and services.

     

    For two years, Fernandez served on the board of the Center City Consortium, a group of inner-city Catholic schools serving a predominantly non-Catholic, minority, and low-income community of Washington, D.C. She also was on the Board of Directors of the Faith in the City Capital Campaign to save these schools from closure.

     

    In addition to her duties as president of the Fernandez Foundation, she is the wife of Raul J. Fernandez and mother of two children.
