Pitch in the 2018 StartupHoyas Challenge  – Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on Monday April 2

Interested in taking your business venture to the next level? Are you the next Sweetgreen? Or Lulu’s Ice Cream? Pitch your idea at the StartupHoyas Challenge!

When and where is it?

The preliminary rounds take place over four evenings, Monday, April 9th through Thursday, April 12th, 2018, from 6.30 – 9 p.m. in the McDonough School of Business. The ten top teams will compete in a final round at our annual “Entrepralooza” on Tuesday, April 24th, 2018  in the Healey Family Student Center, for a chance to win the $10,000 top prize.

How do the preliminary rounds work?

Teams will pitch for 6 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of Q & A and feedback from the judging panel.  Slides are allowed; we recommend a limit of 10 – 12. Each team will pitch twice, before two different panels of judges, and the scores from both panels will be averaged to determine which teams advance to the final round. Pitches will be judged on:

  • The attractiveness and viability of the business concept
  • The strength of the team
  • The quality of the presentation.

(See guidelines for more information on the judging criteria.)

The top ten teams will advance to the final round, where they will compete for more than $20,000 in cash prizes and other services-in-kind. Who can participate? All students from any Georgetown graduate or undergraduate degree program may apply.  All teams who enter the competition will have the opportunity to pitch.
